Introducing the NEW Olin OPVR-1000  500GB Twin HD tuner PVR. It's Government accredited and supports both MPEG 2 & MPEG 4 broadcast transmissions. What's this mean in laymans terms? The hard drive installed is a genuine Western Digital (WD) Audio/Video (AV) Drive.  This is suprising given the price of this unit as WD AV Drives generally cost significantly more the standard HDD's.  Our experience is that AV drives generally last considerably longer in PVR environments where the unit is swithed on for long periods of time and also turning itself on and off as required when EPG shceduling events take place while your away.


For those wanting a second HDD recorder or simply want to upgrade their VHS, DVD recorder or Set Top Box on a limited budget this unit will support ; easy progam scheduling in advance via EPG, the ability to recording two shows at once from different broadcasters,  time shifting (pause/rewind live TV). Expect sheduled recordings to go off seamlessly and picture quality to be great. **** Please Note; This unit is not designed for the Computer / Media Networker who wants to access his video files etc for playback via the PVR. It isn't a fully fledged media player ( support for MP3 and JPEG only) It's simply a large capacity HDD PVR for recording free to air TV. The Olin OPVR-1000 certainly won't break any records for features, however, it is the lowest priced twin HD tuner PVR on the market. When considering the core features, hardware and useability it certainly does rattle a few cages when compared to some of the other offerings found in many department stores.
