Can you 100% confirm to me that the Xtreamer Ultra-C1 PVR can record to an external hard drive when the internal 2TB is full of recorded programs. I want to immediately plug in lets say a external pocket 1TB hard drive that does not require a power source to record. I read all about the Xtreamer Ultra-C1 but could not see anything to say you can record externaly. Please confirm. Thanks. Love the website.

We recently bought the Magic TV MTV4000 PVR. We do love it, and I recommend it as advertised as an easy to use but high quality recorder. Just one warning for buyers - it does not have series recording. You can record according to a good variety of options - same time every day, same day each week, etc - but not true series recording. Don't let this put you off this excellent unit sold by Crazy Stu at a fantastic price.

Xtreamer Ultra-C1. Need I say more? Does everything you mentioned and a whole lot more. Can be tricky to set up, however we do our best to help you though the process with detailed documentation and phone / live support.

first up- super speedy service, thank you.
However- the super speediness meant I received a Magic TV unit which wasnt upgraded to the 4000 model as explained in the leaflet sent with the 3700 unit. Under settings- systems it still says Firmware: MTV3700 4.30AU.

What do I need to do? I'm not good with technology so simple steps would be good :P

Also- do I need to set Programme Guide under Settings to 'Magic TV'? It says I can't do series recording then. If I change back to freeview option I can rarely get the EPG up.

Have just finished setting up my Xtreamer Ultra-C1 (stage1). Thank god you guys did all the hard yards with config & setup. Plugged in the 3 components, followed the very easy and clear instructions and voila - a 2Tb PVR running Myth-TV with twin HD tuner quad recording as promised. Well worth the extra for all of the pre-configuration. Have now set up my web access via Mythweb so can easily manage and record shows from work and elsewhere. The MythTv record options are awesome and such a nice clear interface - I used to think my Topfield 2460 was good with IceTv and TAPS but this is amazing for total flexibility - the ideal PVR for anyone who is adventurous. Have also set up my android tablet as an alternative remote and also programmed my Harmony One no problems. Stage 2 will be to explore and set up all of the other home media options (music, internet radio TV and browsing, video streaming, file sharing etc). Thanks for the friendly and efficient service - I recommend it to anyone.

I was wondering if I was able to get the specifics of the software installed so that I can hunt around for help specific to the xtreamer setup? Or could you point me to a place on the web which I can look thru and help me tweak the setup to my preferences?

Sorry about the delay with your order. As im sure you can understand, the Ultra-C1s are a unique, fully configured product and take around 2 hours to build and configure in entirety - providing we have no backlog of orders and all parts are in stock. Due to the backlog of orders -the Ultra-C1s currently take around 5-10 days to build, configure and ship. We're awaiting tuners for your order and will ship them the moment they come in.

This week bought the Wintal PVR 10HD........everything seems to be good except -
It seems to have immense troble with WIN TV (channel 9 near Wollongong where i live) and associated GO & GEM. Have picked up GO & GEM fine, and seems to be working, then 1 or all 3 will display no signal...mainly WIN. It seems it can pick up the signal, but if you then change channels the signal is lost.
When doing the channel search, it hovers around the 79 -83% mark, so pretty high.
I get perfect recption on my Samsung HD TV and had no problems with WIN using a pretty average Telefunken SD digital tuner.
Is the reciver in the Wintal pretty average, have there been other issues with this problem?

I really like the unit - record worked well and EVERY other channel is crystal clear

Hi Shane I read your comments and I can think of 2 things that may be Important: It is most likely your areal type antenna you have. Try what I did, I installed a second areal, just for the DVD and PVR. and make sure the Antenna wire is all in one uncut piece right to the connection to your set. As you probably know, once there are more than 2 or 3 Units connected to the TV antenna, you may get some loss of signal.(like your case) Of course you could try and overcome this with a quality antenna amplifier, Good luck!
